Petrenel was established in late 1999 and started trading in early 2000. Our first project was to assist a newly formed UK registered company to raise money to fund the development of over 3 Tcf of gas in the SW Gissar area of Uzbekistan. The Company was successful in that respect and we went on to quantify the resources, prepare field development plans, undertake an EIA and provide technical and operational support. Those embryonic first steps in Uzbekistan set the foundation for our company and established ties with Central Asia that have seen us work in all the FSU states, and more specifically, established us as experts on the petroleum resources in Uzbekistan. Since those first steps our business has grown almost entirely by referrals. By 2005 we had undertaken projects in the Middle East, North Africa, Russia and the USA.
